Friends mourn 14 year old kick boxer, who reportedly died after collapsing during national title fight (photos)

A 14 year old kick boxer,  Scott Marsden, from Hillsborough, Sheffield has reportedly died after he collapsed during an English National title fight in Leeds and was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.

The fight which happened on Saturday, had to be stopped by the referee after he received so many blows to his body and then collapsed, and now friends early Tuesday morning have taken to social media to mourn Scott, who they say passed away last night.


As at press time,the West Yorkshire Police said he isn't dead but is in 'critical condition' and they won't treat the case as a suspicious one but his friends and fellow kickboxers say he died overnight.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said to Dailymail UK: 'At 1.20pm on Sunday, police were contacted by medical staff at Leeds General Infirmary reporting a 14-year-old boy who was in a critical condition after collapsing during an organised kickboxing contest at Alexandra Mill, Morley, on Saturday night.

'The family of the boy are at the hospital and have been spoken to by officers. Inquiries are being carried out into the circumstances.'

Kickboxing clubs have also planned a one minute silence at their next fighting event in memory of the boy.

The Charleston church massacre was a mass shooting and hate crime that took place at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, US, on June 17, 2015. During a prayer service, nine people were killed by 21-year-old white supremacist, Dylann Roof. Three other victims survived and Roof was sentenced to Death in January 2017.

Billionaire Tech Mogul, Mark Zuckerberg, paid a visit to the church on Sunday and shared his experience. He wrote:

 

"I'm in Charleston, South Carolina and I spent the morning at Mother Emanuel -- the oldest African Methodist Episcopal church in the South. This community is a symbol of resilience. In 2015, a white supremacist walked into bible study and murdered nine of its black members, including its pastor. The community experienced a level of grief beyond what I can imagine, and they are still working through it. Yet in the face of such hate and tragedy, the victims' families forgave the murderer and treated him with compassion. While many cities might erupt with racial tension after murders like these, the Mother Emanuel community, with a tradition of fighting injustice, led the city in setting a tone of calm for the whole nation. As one white resident of Charleston told me: "the ones we should be apologizing to are forgiving us."

"In our goal to build stronger communities, we have a lot to learn from Charleston and Mother Emanuel. At dinner with the reverend, rabbi, police chief, mayors, and heads of local non-profits last night, they told me one reason the community got through this is they've been building strong bonds for years. The mayor said that you can't wait until a crisis to build community; you need strong community in place when a crisis hits.

"The police chief described how his department has been running a summer camp to help kids and police officers get to know each other for a decade. They build trust so that when there's an emergency or when kids need help, they don't see each other as the enemy.

"There are inspiring stories like this all over Charleston. One woman I met was so committed to integrating the community that she worked overtime as a waitress to raise funds for a social justice program she founded to help people coming out of prison find jobs and become full members of the community again.

"The community still has issues. In my day here, I also heard stories about how a family with white children and an adopted black child always seems to have its black child pulled over for having a tail light out, even though all the kids share the same car. And many people told me Charleston culture values civility so highly that some issues just go unspoken. But overall, this is clearly a city that is committed to building a strong community and that has succeeded.

"I am deeply grateful to Reverend Eric S.C. Manning and the Mother Emanuel family for welcoming me into your community. As the reverend said in his sermon this morning: "I will lift up my eyes to the hills, even though my heart may be heavy." I hope more communities lift up their eyes to see what you have built. It will help them when their hearts are heavy, and it will help us all build stronger communities around the world."

According to the report, Ronaldo's family is keeping the news of the imminent twins arrival off the ears of his son, Cristiano Jr, as the boy still doesn't know who his mum is and the family ain't ready to reveal the circumstances surrounding his birth yet, to him.

FOOTIE superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is to become the father of twin boys, a family source has claimed.

A surrogate mother based on the west coast of the US is heavily pregnant and is said to be expecting the babies “very soon”. The Real Madrid forward, 32, has told his inner circle that the twins will be flown to his £5million mansion on the outskirts of the Spanish capital. The source said: “Cristiano and his family can’t wait to meet the new members of their clan.

“He likes to keep a tight lid on his private life but has told loved ones and close friends the baby boys are due to arrive very soon.”

It mirrors the circumstances surrounding the birth of Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr, six, together left — said to have been born to a woman in San Diego.

The source said: “He feels the time is right for his boy to have brothers to grow up with. 

“His mum Dolores will be there to lend a helping hand like she has been with little Cristiano.”

Ronaldo, in a relationship with model Georgina Rodriguez, 23, has not told his extended family who the twins’ mum is.

The name of Cristiano Jr’s mother, said to have been paid £10million by the Portuguese international, has never been publicly revealed.

UFC boss offers Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor £20.5million each to fight each other

UFC boss Dana White has offered retired boxing champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC Mixed Martial Arts champion Conor McGregor £20.5 million each for both of them to fight each other.

The pair have been bickering on the fight for some months now, with Mayweather saying McGregor needs to settle his issues with UFC before he thinks of fighting him, a fight that has been tipped to rake in close to $1b.

But now it's been revealed that the UFC boss, is ready to allow the fight happen and will offer huge sums- about £41million ($50million) of the UFC’s money to the pair to engage in the fight. 

Lance Pugmire, LA Times boxing and UFC reporter told Radio 5 Live how White will pay the pair of fighters $25 million each (£20.5 million) to face each other this summer.

He said:

 “Mayweather clearly believes he is the A side and rightfully so, I believe he is 49 and 0 and has dominated so many great opponents that he has fought throughout his career, so he’s going to want more money than that. But the fact that Floyd has come out today and said I’m un-retiring to fight Conor McGregor is something that should move the needle.”
